A little about us and what we do
"The Petersfield & District Beekeepers' Association" was formed in 1941 as the "Steep Beekeepers' Association" and was encouraged by the need to grow one's own food during the war years and after.
During the 1950's the name changed to "The Petersfield and District Beekeepers' Association" which has maintained a steady membership of about 100 members, comprising beekeepers, friends and family.
Apiary meetings are held at regular intervals during the spring and summer months at the Association Apiary, where members gain experience in the handling of bees. We also attend a number of shows throughout the summer and early autumn, where we have educational displays and honey sales.
Regular winter meetings are also held where a programme of lectures is arranged including the Annual General Meeting.
Members meet socially at the Summer Garden Party or at a barbecue attached to one of the several country shows we attend. We also have an Annual Dinner during November.
