"The Petersfield & District Beekeepers' Association" was formed in 1941 as the "Steep Beekeepers' Association" and was encouraged by the need to grow ones' own food during the war years and after.

During the 1950's the name changed to "The Petersfield and District Beekeepers' Association" and it has maintained a steady membership of about 100 members, comprising beekeepers, friends and family.

Apiary1 meetings are held in the summer months at the Association Apiary at three to four week intervals, depending on the time of the season, where members gain experience in the handling of bees. Winter meetings are held centrally in Petersfield where a programme of lectures is arranged including the Annual Meeting.

Members meet socially at the Summer Garden Party or at a barbecue attached to one of the several country shows where we mount an educational display and sell our produce. We also have an Annual Dinner during November.
